Asleep In The Valley Poem Bengali Meaning

Jean Nicolas Arthur Rimband (1854-1891) was a French poem from the nineteenth century. He started writing poetry even before he reached his teens. He stopped writing poetry at the age of nineteen. His major works include To Music, Evening prayer. The present poem, originally titled Le Dormeur le Val, was included in his collection of poetry called, Poesis (1872).

জিন নিকোলাস আর্থার রিমব্যান্ড (১৮৫৪-১৮৯১) উনিশ শতকের এক ফরাসি কবি ছিলেন। কৈশোরে পৌঁছানোর আগেই তিনি কবিতা লেখা শুরু করেছিলেন। উনিশ বছর বয়সে তিনি কবিতা লেখা বন্ধ করেছিলেন। তাঁর প্রধান রচনাগুলির মধ্যে রয়েছে ‘সংগীত,’ ‘সন্ধ্যা প্রার্থনা’। মূলত ‘Le Dormeur le Val’ নামে শিরোনামের বর্তমান কবিতাটি তাঁর ‘Poesis (1872)’ কবিতা সংকলনে অন্তর্ভুক্ত ছিল।

This poem is written in the model of the Italian sonnet that has fourteen lines divided as octave and sestet. The poet explores the inherent futility of war. This theme is expressed in the contrasting images of a bountiful nature as background and the tragic death of a young soldier in the midst of nature’s splendour.

And leaves long strands of silver on the bright

Grass; from the mountain top stream the Sun’s

ঘাস; পর্বতের শীর্ষ থেকে প্রবাহিত হয় সূর্যের 

Rays; they fill the hollow full of light.

রশ্মি; তারা পূরণ করে ফাঁকা জায়গা আলোয় পূর্ণ।

A soldier, very young, lies open-mouthed,

একজন সৈনিক, খুব অল্প বয়স্ক, শুয়ে আছে মুখ-খুলে 

A pillow made of fern beneath his head,

তাঁর মাথার নিচে ফার্ন(এক ধরনের উদ্ভিদ) দিয়ে তৈরি বালিশ,

Asleep; stretched in the heavy undergrowth,

ঘুমন্ত; প্রসারিত, ঘন লতাগুল্মের জঙ্গল এর মাঝে

Pale in his warm, green, sun-soaked bed.

তার উষ্ণতায় ফ্যাকাশে, সবুজ, রোদ্র ভেজা বিছানায় ।

His feet among the flowers, he sleeps. His smile

ফুলের মাঝে তার পা, সে ঘুমায়। তার হাসি

Is like an infant’s – gentle, without guile.

হ’ল এক শিশুর মতো – মৃদু, অকপট।

Ah, Nature, keep him warm; he may catch cold.

আঃ, প্রকৃতি, তাকে উষ্ণ রাখ; তাকে ঠান্ডা লাগতে পারে

The humming insects don’t disturb his rest;

গুনগুনকারী পোকামাকড় তার বিশ্রামে তাকে বিরক্ত করো না;

He sleeps in sunlight, one hand on his breast;

সে সূর্যের আলোতে ঘুমায়, তার এক হাত তার বক্ষে;

At peace. In his side there are two red holes.

শান্তিতে। তার পাশে দুটি লাল গর্ত রয়েছে।
